UNICONSULT Universal Transport Consulting GmbH stands for independent management consultancy in the transport sector. Since 1977, our experts have gained experience in more than 250 projects world-wide. Located in the port of Hamburg as the nucleus of an intermodal transport network, UNICONSULT as part of the Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has a long-established day-to-day working relationship with all kinds of maritime, land transport, and terminal operators.
With about one billion Euro revenue in 2009, HHLA is one of the largest port, intermodal, and logistics operators in Germany, largest container terminal operator in the port of Hamburg and the second largest container port in Europe. On its three container terminals HHLA handled about 4.8 m TEU in 2009.

UNICONSULT is involved in several projects financed by the European Union that focus on the improvement of transport connections in several European regions. Projects' mostly run for up to three years and usually involve around a dozen international partners. UNICONSULT is responsible for the project management, the reporting of progress, and the use of funding. Therefore, UNICONSULT is well acquainted with communicating with governments and the European Union. As a result of an open tendering procedure UNICONSULT has been mandated by the Lead Partner with general project management.
